Good Evening!  I am showing off one of my recent Christmas cards I made.  For this one I took cue from Marybeth who used this cut with the new tag die from Papertrey Ink.  I love this look!  Thanks Marybeth!   I also used the new Wonderful Word Dies and stamp set.  The designer paper is from Stampin' Up!  The felt is Papertrey Ink.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  I have had a low key weekend of cleaning, crafting and cooking.  I started making Christmas cards and  I am sharing one I made last weekend.   I have made almost 50 cards over the last two months.  I am hoping for another 50 to finish out 100 total.  I also finally took pictures of the ones I made.  I made this one with a shaker.  I had gotten the stuff to make them years ago and had not made one.  I am really happy how they came out.
I wish everyone a wonderful week and if you are up North I hope you did not get lots of snow and still have your power!

Birthdays

Good Saturday morning!  I am posting a Birthday card today.  I made this card back in Sep for my friend Kim's Birthday which was this past week.  As you see she turned the big 50!  We had fun celebrating her day at work and the party continues tonight as we get together again to celebrate!
I am addicted to my Papertrey Die. I love using them in most of the cards I make these days!  I find them easy to use and they are really versatile.  You can use them for anything!  Well I am off to finish laundry and head to the gym for a yoga class! Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Friday

Happy Friday my friends!  It has been a busy work week for me!  Today I was happy to finish my work week by taking a class!!  So I was home a little earlier than I am usually since class was out a little earlier than my normal work day.  That has to make you smile on a Friday!
I have been doing a lot of crafting in the past few weeks. Here is one of the cards that I have down load to the computer. I used my Bloom Builders # 3 die and Fillable Frames # 5 die from PTI. Which I seem to be using a lot these days! I just love these flowers are so cool! This card just makes me think girly girl!!
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!!

A long weekend of fun!

Happy October!  I hope everyone is enjoying the first days of October!  I have had the past four days off and it has been wonderful!  I needed a few days to recharge my batteries and get a few things done at home. Of course that turned into lots more time in my craft room.  I managed to spend at least an hour a day in there!  I was so happy with my results!  I also had fun with friends and just hanging out at home!  I did also get some canning done as well.  Below are the results of my weekend!
The top picture is the peach butter and pickles I canned today.  Can not wait to see how the pickles came out!  The peach butter is wonderful!!  The bottom picture is a card I made for part of a gift.  I used  the sentiment from MFT and the wine glass from  Gina K.  The ribbon I have had for a while and the DP came from Archivers.  I hope you have a wonderful week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Sunday!  I can not believe there are only two more weeks left of September!  This month is flying by!  I made this card using the new PTI Harvest Berries one of my new favorite stamp sets! I love the matching die that goes with the stamp set.  I used New Leaf Ink and paper. The ribbon is CTMH and the pattern paper is from my stash, I am not sure where it is from.  I wish you all a wonderful week!  Thank you so much for stopping by and all your sweet comments!  They mean a lot!

A Birthday Card

Good evening!  This is the last card I made for the August Birthday's at work.  We have 5 total I only had to make 4 since I am the 5th Birthday!  I did not have to make my own Birthday card!  My friend Faith made my card.  It was wonderful!  Now on to my card!
I made this card using Tim Holtz paper, Claudine Hellmuth sticky back canvas for the flowers that I die cut with my Papertrey Ink die.  I embossed Happy Birthday on the tag I made and used pop dots to attach it.  I love how it turned out!  The Birthday Girl did too!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful evening!

Happy Labor Day!

As I sit here after a wonderful three day weekend I realize that I did just what I needed to do!  Relax and have a wonderful weekend.  I started with a 12 hour crafting day Saturday and finished with a Monday for me doing stuff around the house and doing what I love crafting, cooking, and reading!  I made this card last week. I had an engagement brunch and needed a card.  I took my cuttlebug folder  ran it through my Big Shot using a white piece of paper then added a pink flower with ribbon and put it on a white card base.  Simple but pretty.  The bride to be loved it and it was a great time!
I made over thirty cards this weekend so I hope to post a few more this week when I get them photographed!  Have a wonderful week!  Thanks for stopping by!

August has flown by!

Happy Sunday again!  I can not believe there are only a few days of August left!  School has already started here in this neck of the woods and that means fall is just around the corner!  I love fall do not get me wrong but I really love summer and the warm weather!  This week was a crazy week here!  First we had an earthquake!  Wow is all I can say!  What a really really strange feeling!  Then Irene came by yesterday! She brought me lots of wind but very little rain.  I was just on the edge of the storm so it was not too bad.
The best news is my mojo returned and I created a few cards!  Today I am featuring one of the cards I made earlier in the week.  A simple card I threw together by taking plain flowers turned them two different shades of orange using my Glimmer Mist Sprays.  I also used the orange Glimmer Mist on the stripe of paper on the left side of the card.  I also stamped the background paper making my own DP. I am so excited to get back into my craft room and come out with something new! I also received my new Papertrey goodies and will post those cards later this week.  I am loving my new dies and stamps! Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you are all well!

Summer Fun

Happy Sunday!  I can not believe that it is almost the middle of August!  Summer seems to fly by faster and faster as I grow older!!  I was gone last weekend so this weekend I planned a low key weekend consisting of being home and hanging out.  I was suppose to go and hang with some friends by the pool when the weather decided not to agree.  We had rain which we really needed and when it finally finished it was late in the afternoon so I headed to Church and hung at home.  I did get in my craft room and played around.  I made this card for a friend I love being able to sit down and use what is on my desk.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

August First

Today I am posting my Papertrey Inkers Challenge.  I choose August and it is finally here!

Happy August first!  The summer is flying by!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful time!  My challenge for this month is for you to take a Papertrey Stamp Set and create your own designer paper. Then make a card using the paper you created.  Here is my card.   I used Shape by Design to make my paper and my sentiment came from Handwritten Notes.  I used CTMH ink for the stamping.  I stamped my saying on a piece of clear in stazon then put a piece of velum under it.  I used brads in the corners to hide the glue dots.  My base is Enchanted Evening paper by Papertrey.  I am happy with the out come!  Looking forwards to seeing what everyone comes up with!

Better Late Than Never!

Happy Sunday!  I swear that the weeks are flying by this summer!!  I can not believe it is already the last day of July!  I finally got in the craft room today after two weeks away.  I was out of town last weekend at my best friends we had planned to do some crafting but just never made it.  So today after my sister and her family left here I headed to my craft room.  I was able to get two cards done before I needed to move on to other things!  One is my challenge for July Papertrey Inkers and the second one is my August Papertrey Inkers Challenge.  I still need to get back in to my room to make a few Birthday cards for some up coming Birthdays.  I will only be showing my July card today and will have the other one up tomorrow.  Here is the dets for the July Challenge and my card.  It was hard!!  Thanks Debra for making me think out side the box!

1. NO layers, use ONLY your card base.
2. NO embellishments (I heard that gasp...) No ribbon, buttons, glitter, flowers etc.
3. Embossing is OK.
4. Use either a brand new, uninked stamp set, or a long forgotten one. Try to use only one set, but multiples are OK, if you must.

I used Quilter's Sampler for my stamp set.  I did not have any new unstamped sets, so I used one that I have not used in a long time.  Paper is Papertrey Fine Line using Memento Black Ink and Close to My Heart Cotton Candy.

Thanks for Stopping By!  Have a wonderful week!

Summer Camp Week Three

week3-colors.jpg
Greetings!  You say that you had no idea I was taking part in Summer camp??  Where were the last two weeks entries?  Well they are yet to be created!  I was hoping that by signing up for this class it would get my mojo back.  I think it is finally coming out but between work and so many other things going on I just have not had the time to sit and create.  The card I finally finished today I started on Monday!  It took me a week to finish a card!! Wow I think that is the longest it has ever taken me!  I am happy with my out come and hope to go back into the craft room this evening to make a few other things!
Thanks for stopping by!

Summer

Happy Sunday!  I am finding it hard to craft and blog this summer!  Work is busy and my social life is too!  I was out of town again last weekend for a wedding and this weekend I went to Ikea!  I think I will be home next weekend! Yay! I am hoping for crafting instead of cleaning!   I made this card a few weeks ago for a co worker's Birthday.  I love how fast it came together!  I used all Papertey Products.  Thanks for stopping by!  I plan to have more later in the week!

Thank you to all the Men and Women of the Armed Forces past, present and future who lay down your lives for us.

This weekend is quickly coming to a close and I have had a great one! I hope you did too!!
Today I spent my day at home and in my craft room!  I made a bunch of cards and tags using my new dies and stamps.  I am totally loving the Garden Variety Stamps and the dies that complement them!   Here is one card I made using the seed packet and frame dies. I really love how easy it is to use these and get a great look.  I also used my 2010 Anniversary Set from Papertrey which I think is my favorite so far. I love the ease of putting the flowers together and the sentiments are great!   Well I am happy to say that I  made a few other cards and will post them later this week!   I did the Make it Monday already but will put that up later in the week!   Thanks for stopping by!  Oh I posted twice today so be sure to scroll down to my first post!

For Jane

Today I am posting my "box" that I get every other week from Neighbor's Feeding Neighbor's in the Sandhills! My friend Jane posted her box on her facebook page so I am sharing here.  I love getting fresh  fruit and vegi's from local farmers. It is so fresh and tastes so yummy!  I now will spend the next few days planning and eating all these lovely fresh vegi's.  The strawberries will be gone by tomorrow night! I have already eaten about a quarter of the container!  Nothing beats a fresh strawberry that were just picked today!! I love cooking and joining this Farm to Table has opened up my taste buds to new things I have not tried.  Usually because I have no idea what to do with them!  Each time I pick up my "box" I get a little flyer with what everything is and some recipes to cook with.  So I am really looking forwards to this weekend!   Tomorrow night I will be crafting and will share this weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Friday!!

Weekends over

This is sentiment from MFT is so true!  Today it was a lot more than chocolate that my friend Karen shared with me.   I was at her house today hanging out having some drinks on the deck talking a bunch of stuf including my car which I noticed yesterday has a tire issue which I was going to take care of by making an appt for next Sat my next day off.   When her husband David came home and told me my tire was totally no good and I should not be driving on it!  So after a few oh my's and what not's Karen lent me her car and tomorrow she is going to get me a cheep tire until I can get my car to the Dealer.  It is times like this that I realize how lucky I am to have the friends I do.  I have been blessed to have some wonderful people in my life and I am so lucky!  So thank you to all my friends!  Especially Karen!  You rock!!  Thanks for stopping by! Oh and Happy Mother's Day to everyone who is a Mom! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

May Day

Happy May 1st!  I am finding it hard to believe that it is already the 1st of May.  I am not sure where April, but I am loving the weather that comes this time of year.  We are having day time temps in the 70's and night time temps in the 40's which is below normal for us, but really nice.  The card below I made today to celebrate the first day of spring.  I pulled out my Anniversary set from last year.  I really like how it came out.  All supplies but the embellishments are from Papertrey Ink.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Time Away and a Thank You!

First thank you everyone who left such nice comments and well wish for everyone here.  Things are slowly returning back to normal.  I think it is going to take a long time for things to be totally normal, but at least we are headed in the right direction.  Second sorry for long absents here. I was a way for the weekend and life has been really busy.  I am hoping to do better in the coming weeks.
As I said I just had a great long weekend.  I was in Maryland visiting with my Best Friend and her family.  We had a great  four and half days of fun, sun and food.  I arrived Saturday afternoon and returned this afternoon.  They live in the most beautiful area of Maryland.  Their house sits on a hill surrounded by hills and fields.  We enjoyed sitting outside, gardening, and hanging out.  We had hoped for some crafting time but never got there.  So I am posting a recent Birthday card I made for one of my co workers.  I used my new button basics and dies!  I love them! All products but the 1/2 circle pattern paper (Lily Bee) are PaperTrey.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Tornadoes

Warning a non crafting post.  It has been a long few days here in my town.  I hope to get to crafting soon.

These are the words I wrote Sunday,  After a F3 tornado came to town and turned many lives up side down. I still had no power or phone. My lap top happened to be charged so I took the time to write some.  I have never in the forty plus years I have been alive seen such devastation.  It is such an odd thing to drive out of your subdivision and go two blocks and where there was a subdivision it is no more.   There are just pieces of homes, trees and what not.  So this is my story. I am lucky the tornado did not hit my home and I am fine. Losing power and phone no big deal.  I pray for those that lost it all.
Here is my Saturday:
About twenty four hours ago the City of Sanford changed for ever.  A large tornado came through the city starting in Lemon Springs and moving quickly across until it finally stopped well beyond Sanford. It destroyed homes and large businesses.  For the first time in my life I was not sure what would happen and what the out come would be.  I sat in the bathtub for about 15min and when I did go out I had no power or phones.  I at that point had no idea a tornado touched down less than a mile from my home.  My neighborhood thankfully was untouched.  Others were not so lucky,  St Andrews Church area was leveled.  As well as Lowes Home store and the Food Lion strip.  The pictures I saw in the paper today were amazing.  To get to church this morning I had to drive way out of the way.  I passed areas that were completely leveled and then the next house had one window blown out.  I passed the area where I believe it started.  The house I saw was missing part of its roof and there were two tractor trailers laying on their sides as if some just tipped them over(above picture).  Then when you looked left the path was noted by trees that looked as though someone just snapped them in the middle.  As I sit here now I still have no power and have not seen the larger areas that were struck. My prayers go out to those that lost everything.

Thanks for stopping by.

Weekend!

Well Sunday is almost done and I have only had time to make one card.  I even received new goodies this past week and had hoped it would be a great creative weekend.  Then the real world got in the way!  Yesterday I was up and out before 7am  came home at 2pm and was out the door again at 3:45.  Today I had to do everything that I usually do on Saturdays.  So laundry, yard work and house work were done.  I also woke up with a cold today and just do not feel great and after doing all have too's I had no steam for the fun stuff.  I did make one card yesterday for the party I went to last night.  However I am not showing that today instead I am sharing the card I made my Dad.
The card is using some Tim Holtz stuff.  I used his paper for the background and the stamps are one of my favorites of his sets.  I used Memento tuxedo back for the arrows and sentiment.  I used Distress Ink Vintage Photo for the clock, background on the card stock using a brush to make the effect, and around the cork I also sponged the ink too.  I added two brads using my I Rock for my embellishment.  He received the card yesterday in the mail and really liked it!  I love sharing my stuff with my family and friends.  Well I just realized as I was typing that we have a Birthday tomorrow at work so I am off to make a card before I head to bed!  Have a great evening!  Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Make it Monday #7

Here is my Make it Monday #7.  The challenge was coloring with copics.  I love mine, but I am still a novice at this!  I really would love to take a class on how to use them so I can get more out of them.  For now I watch videos and read blogs on them.
Suppiles:  I used my PTI Year of Flowers: Daffodils for the stamp.  The paper is bazzill, the pattern paper is from Tim Holtz's new paper pack and the ribbon is American Craft. The copics I used were Y11, Y13, and Y15, (these were the yellows) Y38,YR04, and YR07,(these are the oranges)G07,G14,and G17(these were the greens).  I had tried to take a picture of them but I could not get it to focus.

March Papertrey Blog Hop

pti_bloghoplogo.gif

Today is the Papertrey March Blog Hop.  I found it hard to figure out what to do with floss.  I would have bowed out this month but I participate in a challenge group and Mel wanted us to find out PTI roots and participate in all the Make it Mondays and the monthly blog hop.  So here we are the 25th of March and it is the hop.  I had no idea what to do.  So here is what I came up with.
I used the floss as ribbon and wound the floss around the pattern paper.   Then I already had the die cut the label with my flowers stamped on it with the jems so I attached it on top and added a saying.  I really like the way it came out.   Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Make it Monday

Untitled-1
Here is my take on Make it Monday we were to use an impression plate using only part of it. I only own one impression plate so I used it!  I used the Woodgrain impression plate and really liked the way it turned out.  I also used Erin's idea of scoring after I ran the impression plate through my Big Shot.  I then used the fillable frame #4 with a saying from fillable frame #6.  I then stamped Dot Spot on the card front and attached the woodgrain with the fillable frame and added some embellishments to finish it off.  I really like how the whole card came together.   Hope you enjoy it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great evening!!

Spring!

Happy Spring!  Today I am posting my Papertrey Inkers Monthly Challenge.  Mel gave us this challenge
"This challenge has several layers to answer throughout the month of March:
1)Tell your story of how you discovered Papertrey Ink (the trigger).
2) Using (the trigger) make a project for each of the March Make it Mondays.
3) Now that you've fallen back in love with your first love of PTI, use (the trigger) to showcasing the PTI Blog Hop Challenge this March.
I hope I have you thinking of all the different things you can do with your first PTI Love."
I have been following Papertrey Ink since it started back in 2007.  I found it when I used to spend many hours on Splitcoast Stampers. Once I found Papertrey it took me a few months to buy my first stamps.  I  bought two to start Trojan Monogram and B & C Monogram Edition. I have used both in the two cards above. I can not tell you the last time I took these out and used them!  So thanks to Mel for getting me to use them!  My next post will have my Make it Monday for the second week of March.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Sunday night!

St Patrick's Day

Happy St Patrick's Day!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful day!  I have not blogged over a week due to a few things like  a busy weekend and then having a lovely GI bug that is still lingering.  Yuck!  I would love my stomach back to normal!
I was hoping to get some cards done for today, but have had no desire to get into my craft room and play.  So I am posting a card I made on my trip to the beach in Jan.  I recently gave it  to my friend for her Birthday.  I love how it came out!  I have to say I think this is one of my favorite stamp set from Papertrey.  I think it can be used for so many things!   Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to get into my craft room this weekend and work on a few projects that I need to get done!  Have a great Friday!!

Another Sunday!

Happy Sunday!  Unfortunately it is almost over!  I have to share my dinner with you all it was super easy and yummy! Chicken Alfredo, I used  half and half, parm cheese, and butter. Oh and a little salt.  I finally got it right, low and slow! I have tried this a few times and it never came together. This time I got it and it was good!

Anyway, finally played in my craft today for an hour or so and only manged to make two cards?!  Yikes!! Ever have one of those days!  Or should I say weekends.  I sat down at my table yesterday and did nothing!  I just had a blank mind and nothing was working.  I finally gave up and went back this afternoon.  Here are the two cards I  came up with.  I went to Michaels yesterday and purchased the I rock and some embellishments to go with it.  I used those on the With Love card.  I really like the look and it took no time to get them on the card!  Well it has been a nice low key weekend! Here is hoping the coming week is too!  Have a great week!  Thanks for stopping by!

This is my first Make it Monday Challenge that goes on every Monday at Papertrey Ink.  This weeks challenge was to use score tape and glitter.  I really like doing this!  I had not thought about doing this before and will be using this again!  I also used my new Doily die which I totally love!

Thanks for stopping by!

A full weekend

This weekend went way to fast for me!  It was a busy one but also a fun one!  It started out Friday night hanging out with friends.  Saturday was running around doing things around the house as well as town.  Then having dinner with friends which is always fun!  Today was my dear friend Sam's daughter's Baptism which was wonderful!  Followed by another dear friend Val's Birthday get together we had a girls day.  All and all great fun!  Above is a tag I made for Sophia's gift.  I made the tag with Papertrey Tag Sale die 2. The base is from a coster and then cover with paper. I used the Doily Details Collection with a Papertrey button.  The ribbon is Stampin Up!   I love the new Doily Collection and can not get enough of it.  I have also seen the Button Set one and really think that may have to be my next order!    Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week! Hope to have stamping time this week but in reality I think there is no free time until next weekend!  Well a girl can dream!

A week day post

Happy Thursday!  I ordered new goodies from Papertrey Ink last week with their February release and they came in the mail yesterday!  I only got a few things wish I could have gotten it all but I am not made of money.  I got all the doily stuff because I have been addicted to really doilies since I was a child.  I started collecting them when I was in the 5th grade and have them from all over the world.  I even have ones that were my Grandmother's.  I am really enjoying these dies.  I practiced with some stamps too but need more practice before I share with the public!  I ordered all the doily dies and have run all of them through my Big Shot the details they have are amazing!  I bought the metal shim with them and it paid off big I only had to push out a few little pieces of paper in the details.  I will share the other projects I am working on with the new stuff later in the weekend!  I am off to clean dishes and get ready for tomorrow! Have a wonderful Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
